Animal Reports – Due April 23

Week 1

Choose an animal you would like to research.

Begin research on your animal. Please be sure to use at least one book. Reference materials such as encyclopedias are also great, along with good internet sites.

Choose 10 of the most interesting facts about your animal. Include animal habitat, diet, physical appearance, characteristics/behaviors, babies/young, predators/enemies and other interesting and/or unusual facts. Be sure to arrange your facts in like groups or topics. For instance, list facts about habitat together on your list. Habitat may be one fact or more – just be sure to keep them together. This will help you when you write your report! Each topic should be a different paragraph. Using the attached 10 Interesting Facts paper, neatly print your facts. Also be sure to write your sources at the bottom of the 10 Interesting Facts paper.

Turn in your 10 Interesting Facts list on April 16.

Week 2

Using your 10 Interesting Facts write your report. Remember, each topic should be a different paragraph. You may neatly print your report or type it on a computer. A sample report is attached.

Your Animal Report will be due on April 23.

Week 3

Animal Reports will be presented in class. You will need to bring one educational visual aid to show during your report. This visual aid may be a picture from a book, the internet, or another source. You may also bring other educational items related to your animal that will help in your presentation. Please try not to bring stuffed animals unless the stuffed animal has realistic characteristics of your animal.
